Popular technical drummer MIKE PORTNOY's signature stick with an "Active Grip" finish!

Different from conventional colored sticks, the Active Grip finish with a special coating that reacts to the heat of the hand not only gives it a cool look, but also makes it less slippery even when sweaty, helping to relax the palms and fingers and allowing for freer playing.

The entire surface of the stick except for the tip is treated to ensure it will function even when held upside down.

The 5A size is 14.5mm thicker than the TX420N, and the length is slightly longer, making it easier to apply power, and the wood tip is used.

This model has an Active Grip finish, so it grips firmly even if your palms get wet with sweat while playing, and it is a little heavier than the 420 that I usually use in my other progressive rock band, so it goes well with hard rock playing.

I use the 420X for Winery Dogs, Twisted Sisters, and Metal Allegiance. The black color is really cool, and the wood chips are different from the 420, which I like.
