Today is the very first time I have actually tried to use this pressure cooker, even though I purchased it more than 30 days ago. Unfortunately, it does not function as intended. The float/safety valve gets stuck in the closed position from the start, which prevents the unit from venting properly. Because of this, the cooker never builds pressure and the gauge remains at 0 PSI. Steam escapes, but it never reaches actual pressure cooking. Since this was my first attempt to use it, the product is essentially unused but defective from the beginning. A pressure cooker that cannot build pressure is not fit for purpose. I kindly request either a replacement with a properly functioning unit or a refund.
