<Features> Nashien Dye's signature technique is the "Chū-sen" dyeing method. This dyeing method, designated a traditional craft, allows for dyeing on both sides of the fabric. The beautiful colors and beautiful texture are only possible because it is hand-dyed by skilled artisans. Niwa-zome also uses its own original fabrics and is particular about the quality of the bleached cotton used in its tenugui and yukata towels.

One of the animal motifs, Niwa-zome often appears in Japanese fairy tales. I remember hearing this song as a child: "Why do rabbits have long ears? Because they ate kaya nuts and chinquapin nuts." In fact, a rabbit's long ears not only help them hear sounds, but also help cool them down by transferring heat generated inside their bodies to their ears when chased by carnivorous animals.
